Director of Social Media Sales

Votigo is a pioneer in the exciting new arena of Social Media Marketing. We work with clients including Victoria's Secret PINK, Pandora, L'Oréal, NBC Universal and others to help them better engage and communicate with their customers through Social Media. We are seeking an experienced sales professional to build a sales team in a player/coach role. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of success in digital media sales and a strong understanding of Social Media and how it can help brands be successful. He/she will be calling on clients at all levels as well as on advertising agencies. We're looking for a sales professional with a consultative sales approach who is pro-active in driving revenue and delivering solutions that meet and exceed our clients' needs. He/she must be results-driven, have strong analytical, creative and negotiation skills, and be able to manage multiple projects and agendas at the same time to success. The sales professional is expected to understand and be able to articulate the overall business objectives of the Votigo sales organization, and the Votigo value proposition to the advertising and marketing community.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for national sales of Votigo's social media advertising and promotion solutions.
  • Leverage existing agency/advertiser relationships to sell.
  • Achieve the company's annual sales goal.
  • Identify and close brand managers and digital agency managers focused social media advertising.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals, demonstrating focused sales efforts, understanding of Votigo's business model, and an understanding of the internet advertising environment.
  • Manage accounts effectively in order to drive recurring revenue and increase the level of participation by clients.
  • Recruit and manage a sales team over time.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of media sales experience, including meaningful digital experience. Social Media sales a plus.
  • Prior experience working for an ad agency a plus.
  • Strong contacts with consumer products marketers, ad agencies, PR firms, digital agencies and promotional firms.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of success driving revenue through the development of long-term strategic relationships.
  • Demonstrated track record of structuring and managing complex negotiations to successful closure and delivery (at a 6-figure level).
  • Understanding of Social Media and Facebook Applications.
  • Understanding of how technology works and the ability to explain in ordinary terms, communicating how Votigo capabilities meet stated client needs.
