Votigo Launches Online Social Video and Photo Contest Community
Michael Eisner's Prom Queen, The Motley Fool, and
Santa Cruz Snowboards are Initial Partners
(OAKLAND, CA) April 19th, 2007 - Votigo, Inc. today announced the official launch of www.votigo.com, a free, online community that allows any business, band, organization or individual to create and customize their own online video or photo contest. Votigo believes strongly in the benefits of online contests as an entertaining way to encourage customer loyalty and build community in a controlled environment.
"Contests provide marketers a great way to engage their customer base and safely participate in social media," said Mike La Rotonda, CEO and co-founder of Votigo. "Votigo makes it easy for any company, large or small, to set up and customize their own contest in a matter of minutes. And for users creating their own contests, it's an exciting and fun new way to showcase and share their photos and videos."
The challenge for many marketers up until now is that it has been too expensive, too time consuming and too difficult to create a compelling contest. Marketers are either overpaying to create one-off solutions, trying to piece something together using features from other sites, or using generic sweepstakes that don't put viewers in control of choosing the winners. Utilizing Votigo.com gives marketers a new, easy to use tool for implementing relevant contests into their marketing mix.
In addition to user-generated contests, Votigo is currently running sponsored contests for several partners including Michael Eisner's PromQueen (www.promqueen.tv), The Motley Fool (www.votigo.com/motleyfoolcaps), and Santa Cruz Snowboards (www.votigo.com/cartelsantacruz).
"Votigo's solution is one of the tools we are using to generate excitement in Prom Queen. Its Most Outrageous Prom Dress contest is engaging users and helping us build the online community around the show," said Michael Eisner.
"We were able to easily create a compelling online contest to promote our new 27-second stock pitches," said John Keeling, SVP, Community Intelligence at The Motley Fool. "The contest is a great way for us to get our users excited and actively participating in the creation of the new stock pitches."
Key features of Votigo.com include:
- Easy to use platform for creating memorable contests
- Fraud-free vote tracking
- Customized look & feel
- Plug and play photo and video upload
- Support for video from YouTube, MySpace, Google, and Photobucket
- Viral sharing tools including embeddable voting widgets
