Hi Chuck, not too sure how to quantify what "that isn't too expensive" is but I am a HUGE fan of Visual Sounds "Pony" which comes with their Jekyll and Hyde dual distortion pedal... :) Peavey's ValveKing is pretty nice as well... many choices out there to be sure and it can be a bit inundating
